Dentists Offer Free Dental Care in Cambodia

In the North Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a dental clinic was held to provide free dental care to members of the Church in Phnom Penh.  Dr. Roger Gartz with his wife Connie, Dr. Mike Ford and wife Char, and Dr. Cari LaCouture and wife Karen were in Cambodia to provide this great service.  They were assisted by Nancy and Rulon Horn and Chuck LaCouture.  Dr. Tith of The Roomchang Dental clinic who had assisted in this effort during past free clinics, donated all the mobile dental equipment necessary to provide the necessary services.  Dr Gartz explained that this was his 5th trip to Cambodia where he has assisted with dental services.  During one of these trips he was serving as a senior missionary, and brought his own mobile clinic which he used during the almost 2 years he was serving in Cambodia.  The current project is in association with the Ayuda Humanitarian group.  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has worked with the Ayuda group in providing humanitarian care throughout the world.

Nen Pros spoke about the care he received as a great blessing in his life as well as that of his family members who are able to receive the care they need and would not otherwise be able to afford.

Over 100 patients were treated over a 5 day period including all the children from the CIFCO Orphanage in Phnom Penh.
