A Christmas Gift- A Day of Service To Cambodia

The Christmas season brings hearts together as we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.  Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cambodia wanted to give the country a Christmas gift.  Each congregation of the Church within Cambodia organized a plan to help those in need, not of their faith.  Neighbors, work associates, friends, and others were the recipients of their gifts.

December 12 was the day designated to serve the country.  Members in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, and Battambang participated in this Christmas service.

A variety of service and gifts were given, including gifts of rice, noodles, cooking oils, baby blankets, hygiene kits, school backpacks, repairing homes, cleaning school grounds, and improving bad roads with materials and labor.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches members to reach out to those not of their faith, and see each other as brothers and sisters, no matter what nationality or religion.

As these gifts were offered, the givers and the receivers felt a connection of love.  Many hearts were warmed and good will spread throughout the country,
